Hi, I'm Mr. King
Welcome to Kindergarten here at Willow Creek. I have been teaching for 8 years, 6 of those in kindergarten. I have 2 boys, Kobe, 23, and Ethan, 22. We enjoy being outside, hiking, walking or biking on the greenbelt, floating the Boise River, swimming and especially paddle boarding. I was born and raised in Idaho but still find myself in awe of all the beauty we have here. There are so many more places we want to explore and visit.I am excited to start this new school year and help your child develop a love of learning.
My favorite part of kindergarten is watching children master the letter names and sounds and begin to read. The excitement and pride they feel in those moments is beyond compare. This is going to be an amazing year with lots of learning in Language Arts, Math and Social Emotional Development. For many of your kids this will be their first experience learning in a structured environment. This year will be full of big emotions and we will work together to understand them and learn how do deal with them more effectively. My goal is to use all my skills and strategies to help your child excel and grow while having as much fun as possible.
In addition to teaching your child to read, write, add, and subtract, my goal is to encourage their curiosity and help them develop a love of learning that will stick with them throughout school and beyond. One of the things we try to instill in every child is that "We Can Do Hard Things".
This year will be filled with fun and learning with some unexpected curves and speed bumps along the way. I will do my best to help you and your child navigate them, so that we have the best year possible.
